How to set up Marinios IPTV on a MAG or Formuler box

MAG and Formuler boxes run built-in middleware rather than a general app store — there's no equivalent of installing IPTV Smarters Pro or IBO Player on these devices. Instead, the box itself is configured to point at a specific provider's portal server, and the channel lineup, guide, and interface all come from that portal directly.

This means the setup process is fundamentally about registering hardware, not installing software. Your MAC address — a unique identifier burned into the device — is what ties a specific physical box to your Marinios subscription, which is why it has to be registered in your account before the box will show anything.

On most MAG and Formuler boxes, the MAC address is under Settings → System Information, usually labeled exactly "MAC Address" and formatted as six pairs of characters separated by colons. Some models also print it on a sticker on the underside of the box, which is worth checking if the on-screen menu is hard to navigate.

Write it down exactly as shown, including all colons — a single mistyped character when registering it will cause the portal to simply not recognize the device, with no more specific error message than that.

Log into your Marinios account dashboard from a computer or phone, go to Devices, and select Add portal device. Enter the MAC address exactly as it appeared on the box, and confirm — this step is what links the physical hardware to your subscription on the server side.

This registration has to happen before the box will authenticate, and it needs to happen again — with the new MAC address — if you ever replace the box, since the portal ties the subscription to specific hardware rather than to a login you type in.

On the box itself, navigate to Settings → Servers → Portals. Set the Portal 1 Name field to something recognizable, like "Marinios," and set the Portal 1 URL field to the exact portal address shown in your account dashboard.

Save the settings, then reboot the box completely rather than just backing out of the menu — portal configuration changes on these devices typically only take effect after a full restart, and a channel list that fails to load immediately after saving usually just needs that reboot rather than a fresh troubleshooting pass.

First, confirm the MAC address registered in your dashboard matches the one on the box exactly — this is the most common point of failure, especially if the address was copied by hand rather than confirmed character by character. Second, confirm the Portal 1 URL has no typos and matches what the dashboard shows precisely.

If both are correct and the lineup still doesn't appear, check the box's network connection independently — portal boxes generally have no fallback error messaging for a dropped connection, so a blank channel list can simply mean the box lost its network link rather than a subscription or portal problem.

If you replace a MAG or Formuler box with a new one, you'll need to register the new MAC address in your dashboard before the replacement will work — the old registration doesn't automatically transfer, and leaving it in place just means an unused registration rather than a working fallback.

If you're switching away from a portal box entirely — to a Fire TV Stick or Android device, for instance — the setup changes completely: you'd install IPTV Smarters Pro or IBO Player and log in with Xtream Codes credentials instead, which is a username/password flow rather than a MAC-address one. The two setup guides are not interchangeable.
