Why GSE Smart IPTV, and when to pick it over Smarters Pro
GSE Smart IPTV has been available on iOS, tvOS and Android for longer than IPTV Smarters Pro, and it's the app many long-time IPTV users default to on Apple hardware specifically. It supports both connection methods Marinios provides β Xtream Codes login and M3U playlist β plus multiple simultaneous playlists if you ever need to manage more than one.
There's no functional reason to prefer it over Smarters Pro on most platforms; it comes down to interface preference and, occasionally, App Store availability in a given region. If Smarters Pro is ever pulled from your region's store, GSE is the most established fallback.
Installing on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV
Search the App Store for GSE Smart IPTV and install it β same as any other app, no sideloading involved. On Apple TV, search the tvOS App Store directly on the device.
Open the app and look for "Remote Playlist" or the "+" icon to add a new source. This is where you'll choose between the Xtream Codes and M3U connection methods described below.
Installing on Android and Android TV
Search Google Play for GSE Smart IPTV on a phone, tablet, Android TV box or Google TV device, and install it the standard way. The setup flow after installing is identical across Apple and Android β the app's interface doesn't change meaningfully between platforms.
On Android TV specifically, GSE keeps a local guide cache similar to other native players, so channel surfing stays responsive after the first sync completes.
Connecting with Xtream Codes login
In the source-add screen, choose the Xtream Codes / API option rather than M3U. Enter the portal URL, username and password exactly as given in your Marinios welcome email β a trailing space or a dropped port number in the URL is the most common reason a first attempt fails.
This method pulls the channel list and program guide live from Marinios's servers, so it updates automatically if the lineup changes β you won't need to re-add anything later.
Connecting with an M3U playlist instead
Choose "Remote Playlist" and paste the M3U URL from your welcome email into the playlist field. This is the simpler of the two setups if you'd rather enter one URL than three separate credential fields.
GSE has a distinct field for an EPG source URL, separate from the playlist itself β if the guide doesn't populate after loading the M3U, check that this EPG field is filled in as well, since GSE doesn't always infer it automatically the way an Xtream Codes login does.
If the channel list or guide won't load
Double-check the URL was copied in full, with no line break or trailing space β this is the single most common cause of a failed connection in any IPTV player, GSE included. Retype it by hand if copy-paste is behaving oddly on your device.
If channels play but the guide stays empty, confirm you've entered the EPG source separately when using the M3U method β this is the detail people miss most often moving from Smarters Pro, where the guide comes bundled automatically.
